Over vacation, I read My Haunted House "as told by Araminta Spookie" to Angie Sage, with illustrations by Jimmy Pickering. Yes, the author is she of the bestselling Septimus Heap series. Last night I read the latest U.S. release from Cornelia Funke (yes, she of The Thief Lord, Dragon Rider, and the Inkheart books, none of which I've yet read (insert audible *gasps* here)).

Mad props to Candlewick for bringing this one across the pond. With it's clever fonts and cleverer narrator, it's a fun, breezy read for young girls. My 11-year old read it last fall and loved it, and I finally decided to pick it up today ( Read more... )
